A few snaps from my birthday spent with Mr at home last Tuesday. A breakfast at a lovely cafe (Left Bower in Sutherland), decked out like a holiday caravan, we drank our coffees at the picnic table out the front; a bunch of flowers from my lovely team at work and baking pecan pie and churning cinnamon ice cream for a dinner at home with my sisters and all the critters. Mr wrapped my present using a hardware store paper bag and my craft punch to make a neon heart (so cute).

Afternoon Delight
I feel like I haven't posted a decent update in ages. Mr and I have been very slowly trying to build a concrete deck. The walls have been removed and our bi-fold doors and windows are finally in (yay! - you'll see in the 3rd pic down the window on left and doors on right and the unfinished surrounds). The sunshine streams in. This bottom pic is taken from the unpoured deck looking in.
I also popped into the School to visit Kara and her caravan a few weekends back and picked up a few treasures. Some are in the cupboard still wrapped up for when we eventually get to doing up the bathroom.

A New Corner
Mr and me have been working hard on our little house. It looks a fright from the outside still but we have been sorting and scrubbing on the inside.

Before & In Between
Finally I have found austerity and restraint - if only it could stay this way. Mr has decided we need to rip the walls down and fill them with insulation. So my painting of the floors, walls and ceiling is on hold until this is done. This room is so unfinished and this is the one we are starting with and I have run out of steam already. The problem is, I love the rawness and paleness of it. This room gets the most light in the house and I smile every time I walk past it. Shame the room next door is stuffed with the contents of its cupboards and furniture and is the exact opposite. Hmm, have never been one for consistency.

Cockatoo
Inspired by a Bonnie & Neil Cockatoo lamp I have made a late xmas gift for above the beautiful lounge of some good friends. I hope they like it!

Let There Be Light
I feel so much better after tidying up my craft room and making this happy little corner. These xmas cards are in my etsy shop now too!
