Love in a Jar

I am not a lover of the shape of a heart. I like stars and crowns. I love wreaths. I like spots and squares and chevrons. I don't like hearts. Never have. From the outset for anything to do with my upcoming nuptials (what a terrible word) the rule has been no hearts.  But then I bought these little gems and couldn't resist sandwiching them together with neon thread.

I call them 'love in a jar'.  Whenever Mr goes out to get something he asks me "do you want me to bring anything back for you?" Every time I ask "can you bring me back some love in a jar?"

Of course he never has so I made it myself.

Art Attempt

Well these are my dots, after much bad maths, I finally got the spacing right. These are bright & happy and probably and would look amazing in a lounge room, dining room or kids room - at the moment I have them in my study. The other colours I did were 'army' greens, greys & metallics and a bit more 'grown up', almost masculine (except I snuck in some pale pink).

Gone Dottie

I've used my dots in art and this is one of them - the other is happy bright. These clouds became gingery honey jumbles. The gorgeous cookie cutter was handmade in Canada by Herriott Grace whom I have followed for ages (see Nikole's blog here) and fell in love with even more when I bought Anthology - the best little mag ever (available in Australia through magnation).

Mr Made A Bench

So Mr the carpenter CAN make furniture. He's going to wish he did a terrible job because my list of orders just grew - next a lounge, then a four poster bed, a beautiful chair, stacks of storage cubes...

Bespoke

Lovely Louise asked for a 3m garland in teal, light blue, cream and gold to match her blog, Bijoux Bride, and here it is. If you'd like a custom garland, just email me. x

The Home Front

I'm excited about our little getaway to Melbourne this weekend. I'm most looking forwardto a nice hot bath in our lovely hotel room. It will be chilly but lots of good food and a change of scenery will be lovely.

Pic 1 - Although the scenery from our house is pretty, well serene. Check out our beach. All ours. It will be a different story in summer no doubt.

Pic 2 - This is our new Persian rug we randomly bought when driving through Rozelle to pick up some recycled timber Mr has been working with to fashion into a bench seat for our dining table. Quite a commitment was buying that together. We tried to justify the expense all the way home.

Pic 3 - Mr named this photo 'reflections,' which I took a Sunday afternoon walk, bless his little heart, he has been naming my garlands when I dance around the house to show him the most recetly completed one.

Pic 4 - Another little project - glitter covered letters. Very messy indeed.

Doily

Beautiful doily ideas from Bliss include lace doily by Field Journal for Project Wedding and Doily envelopes by Heim. I adore this all white super modern tea party.

Feet Beneath a Billowing Skirt

How to make feet look nice? It's a tough one. These pics were part of the Unravelled e-course by Susannah Conway which I completed almost 2 years ago now, which I mentioned here. Last Monday I started Nicole Hill's Photo 101 online course, yes that's right, let's use to use that camera on manual instead of relying on auto with a few random tweaks here and there! So here's to hopefully vastly improved photos in the coming weeks and forever more (fingers crossed).

I also came across Photography Institute online course, which is a serious commitment of time and money, but in 24 weeks you have the knowledge and skills to be a freelance photographer! Years down the track, I may just need to come back to this.
