Never Enough Shelves

If only I could get a carpenter to fall in love with me.
There's no end to the love I'd have for a man who could build me a set of shelves...
I have piles of books and mags just waiting to fill them.

Beautiful On The Outside

Helen you legend, you were spot on with the Desire to Inspire link to the Kavellaris Urban Design perforated house as Graceful Taylor kindly pointed out. And just when I thought I'd found the ultimate exterior, Nancy passed on some links to the Sakura house in Meguro, Tokyo by Mount Fuji Architects Studio which is actually 'lace-like steel 3 mm thick that filters light like sunshine through foliage, with holes punched out in a floral pattern depicting cherry blossoms'.

Kooky Kitchens

One minute I like makeshift industrial, with a touch of vintage, the next I like bright, plastic and pretty, but I really love sleek minimalist white...decisiveness has never been a strong point.
Check out that blackboard cupboard above, I thought it said "Paris". Wouldn't that be great - just open the cupboard and crawl in and you're there...alas, I think I'd only find pans...still, I can't seem to get that little fantasy out of my head.

Surely This IS Love

I have been on a fruitless mission searching for the house with the lace exterior which I am sure was on Desire to Inspire which I can not find for the life of me. Does anyone remember it? There was a person walking past the house, it was clad in white 'metal lace' and there was an image of it in the daylight and also at night with the light shining through the pinholes. I think it was in Melbourne and the images were originally from realestate.com.au...if anyone can find a link...pleeeease email it to me (and I'll send you a sweet treat - so include your address). If I was to find these pics I'd be as happy as I would be if I lived in a white cube house with a man making me coffee every morning.

The Selby Says

I've decided I need a bigger place. A white cube, some colour, exposed beams, lots of light, a place for my stuff, a spare room for guests, a kitchen with decent bench space, a space for random fashion shoots and room for lots of plants.

All images (except 4th from the bottom) from The Selby (I think I looked through their entire site tonight) - I am dying to get my hands on their book.

Queen of Chairs

The home of brilliant Danish designer Louise Campbell. I am in love with her Prince chair (seen beside bed)...along with pretty much everything else her hand touches. This attic is my dream workspace.

Slashes of Pink

This fascinating and bravely painted home in an English fishing village is the work of sisters Abagail & Gemma Ahern who overhauled the home of Gemma's boyfriend soon after she moved in.
