Feathered Lashes & Frilled Collars

When I see a picture of Claudia I have to catch it as there are only glimpses of her remaining. Cindy and Claudia were a huge part of my teenage years during the original supermodel era. Along with Christie & Linda, Naomi & Helena, they were plastered on my walls and my oldest and dearest friend Anna and I have since been living in the hope that one day we'd bloom into women resembling Claudia (her) and Cindy (Me)...hmm, we're still waiting.

Oh, For the Love of Lace - Part II

Yep - I'm definitely going through a black & white phase - it's going to be one of those weeks.

Bright on Cue

If Witchery is my number one fave for clothing, Cue is a close second. Interesting cuts and curves make for a great work wardrobe - it's feminine without being too girly.

Organic Gorman

I love Gorman clothing. It's clever but simple & classic but with a twist. Constructed with integrity and beautiful fabrics (sometimes organic & always sustainable) and in striving for carbon neutrality Lisa Gorman continues to introduce innovative and original environmentally friendly practices along the way.

inspired by surprising contrasts:
army chest / pink peonies
sewing pattern /skirt
ruffled baby doll dress / caramel leather

Lisa Gorman is a Melbourne designer...and Melbourne is where I'll be this weekend to take my seat at the World's Longest Lunch along the banks of the Yarra River. Have a beautiful weekend!

Land of Plenty

I love so many things about this shoot - the way the light comes through the windows, the way the model blends in with the beautiful local artists, the way their art and homes are woven into the pages, the naturalness - it's easy to forget it's a fashion spread; the realness - the stylists choice of clothing; and the Australianness the corrugated iron shed and the jar of Vegemite in the kitchen. Happy Australia Day!
