Maternal Feast

 

Our Mothers Day table. An afternoon of cake eating with our mum - who has is mum to 5, my sisters who have 6 kids between them, me with only a bump and my brothers...add husbands, girlfriends, presents for a  sweet bustling feast.

Goodness me, I downloaded Google Chrome and the updated Blogger and have confused myself silly! Anywho, here are more pics of Xmas Eve, who knew mauve carnations could be so sweet?A large outdoor garland was hung and a menu taped to the wall. We dined on olives, wine and bread / then a butterflied leg of lamb with salsa verde / zucchini, feta and avocado salad / fresh tomatoes with olive oil and thyme / roasted pumpkin with sage. Then for dessert some Christmas pudding ice cream with poached summer cherries. Tea, Brie's white Xmas and our home made trio of cookies to finish.

The Night Before Christmas

On Christmas Eve, we had a little dinner party, our first in the new house so I guess it was a bit of a house warming too, with a few early Christmas presents given and opened. My sis bought her now infamous white Christmas and egg nog. These are some setting up pics and there will be more to come.

A Typical Saturday

Baking and making cupcakes. Newpapers and tea. Mr can barely wait for the tea to brew to try one.

The Cake Maker

Hello lovelies, how were your weekends?

The weather here was hot, shining, sparkling, clear blue skies and bright yellow sun - quite abnormal for May but delicious weekend weather.

Our family spent Mothers Day at the christening of the newest addition to our family, my cousin's little baby Aston. Aston's nan aka Jude, made the amazing cake. Remember I showed you this one she made too. After years of catering, she has decided to make these amazing cakes, so if you need any more info, just email me and I'll pass it on.

Is it Friday yet? I'm thinking of my sis' beautiful baby shower and the babies about to come into our lives - both my sisters only have a few weeks left...

Set Up

Personalised placesetting: An orchid with a strip of paper holding 3 words (see below). Each persons words are different and are characteristics that I love about them and make me feel lucky to have them as a friend. My guests were able to recognise themselves by their set of words (phew) and then they took their seats and were poured a glass of red wine.
