Papier Mache & Cotton

The clever people at Papier Mache are at it again. Pink buns...who else could come up with that. I saw their gorgeous mag in print on the shelves and was enchanted and now (good on them), they are collaborating with Cotton On.

Sweet Carolina

If I was to marry again (I know it was only 4 weeks ago today!) I would track down these Carolina Herrera dresses for my bridesmaids (hmm, then again maybe not the middle one). I love the long strappy belted dresses and slick hair.  via Miss Moss

Still With You

It's true - I'm still here (albeit a little less often).  I've not gone anywhere - just busy thinking of all the things we need to do in the next 8 weeks before the big day. It's really crept up on us. Just when we thought it was never going to come.
Isn't this image gorgeous (not to mention the bag) by Still With You on  etsy. Yum!

p.s. I have changed my blog design (again!). Let me know what you think. xx

Emerson Made Flowers

Hello. I'm totally in love with the creations of Emerson (the designer) and her spunky hubby (the photographer). Quite extraordinarily the lovely Emerson looks exactly like my older sister!

I have a box with EmersonMade stamped on it hiding in the wardrobe, awaiting opening at Easter. Nice work Mr. Very nice work.

Botanical Fanatical

I thought I was clever growing some herbs from seed, but oh no Carolina Herrera Spring 2011 takes botanicals to a whole new level.

Tutu

I am totally obsessed with this apricot ballet tutu from American Apparel. I try it on every morning before work and miss it all day. I wore it Woolworths to do the shopping last Saturday.
Those layers of ruffles are gorgeous and I can't bear to hang it up in the cupboard, I like to keep it on show at all times. It's not unlike the unfurling leaves and layers of this perfect rose from mum's garden. Happy.

Her l Him

I took Mr to the NSW Art Gallery last weekend. It wasn't his cup of tea. He loved the building itself, the beautiful stone, the ceiling, the architecture and I liked the gilded frames more than the paintings within them, hence spending most of our time in the Gallery's cafe (where we had the toasted sandwich of our lives).

Witchery is my cup of tea and I picked up their beautiful new paper and read every word. Modern Love. It's a love I like the sound of..."being individually together".

I'm a no magnets on the fridge girl but I found some word magnets ("frantic" & "like") on a wall in Redfern and I took them home and used them to hold the torn-out love on a dewy window page.

All very romantic. The mag asks 4 couples the questions below.

I might answer them about Mr. Since blogging isn't his cup of tea I guess that makes my answers almost private (te he). Leave a comment and let me know some cute answers about you and yours.

Let's begin by being creative and pretend we don't have other full time jobs.

Moi: The design lover/blogger
Mr: The furniture maker

Where did you first meet? On a street corner in Surry Hills

What first drew you to each other? His humour, height & hands

Name 2 things you love most about each other His kind heart & his capacity for joy

What should people know about your partner? He's easy to love, his actions are measured and deliberate, sometimes he's shy

Share each others most endearing qualities? His gentleness

What haven’t you done yet but hope to do together? Kiss at the top of the Eiffel tower

What do you agree to disagree on? The virtues of late nights (me) and early mornings (him)

What’s the nicest thing your partner has ever done for you? Asked me on a date, paid and stayed

If your partner was a colour, what would they be? Hmm

In one word, please sum each other up. Calm

p.s. thank you for all the comments about my pink & white roses - you made it my most popular post yet! They have all died except the half/half one, there's something magical about it.

Franceso + Margaux

You won't find anyone dressed like this in the land of Oz (nor named like this). France and Italy prove to be the home of style yet again. What do we wear here? Well, when Garance Dore visited us en Australie she photographed some of the downunder fashion pack here, here, here, here and here.

The Bird's Nest On My Head

The bun is a subject very close to my heart..ahem, head...you know what I mean.

Domestic Bun

Pile it up on the street or in the home...

Top Knot

The top knot. It was one of the few ways we could rebel and get away with it in schoool. How? We had relatively neat hair compared to the birds nest piled on top of our heads. I've had long hair for years now and although most people feel this way when their hair is out and freeflowing, I find there's nothing as cleansing or freeing as piling it as high up on my head as I can and twist it upon itself without risk of a strand falling near my face or in my eyes.
