Beauty Is Pain

When Jeska said "Aren't some things so beautiful that they almost cause you physical pain?" I knew exactly what she meant.

Feeling Blue?

It's an awful thing to feel blue. Especially when we don't know quite why. I guess it's just an overwhelming sense of hopelessness and not being sure when it will go away...
I suspect they'll be gone come Tuesday.

Ribbons & Paper Layers

My favourite pages from Sibella's new book etcetera. I read it in one sitting. It is written so beautifully, the language is as delicious as the images it accompanies.

Hooray for Holly

I love the use of clean contrasts with pink and white sweetness and the creamy richness of the toffee and aqua tones. This is the handiwork of Holly Becker, who is, in my opinion, writer of one of the very best of interiors/styling blogs. I absolutely love every post of hers on both Decor8 and Haus Maus -where she shares the wonders surrounding her move to Germany next month, as well as some fab German shopping recommendations (see her blogroll). I wish her the best of luck with her move to Hannover. She has been a fabulous supporter of this blog and I can't thank her enough. Hopefully continually admiring her work is gratitude enough? And Holly, if you happen upon this post, please e-mail me your forwarding address so I can send one of my new postcards to your new home. In appreciation for inspiration. x

Carolyn Quartermaine

Stylist's stylist and artist Carolyn Quartermaine's style is sheer perfection. I am yet to come across anyone whose work I love as much. This is her London studio.
