Mr Built Us A Bathroom

Before
Mr and I have been in this house for 3.5 years. My priority was the bathroom. Somehow we managed to to start on the exterior: Paving the driveway, re-cladding the house, new front door, gates and new turf and plants.  Meanwhile the toilet leaked, the shower curtain was sticking to us as we showered in the draughty room, the vanity shelves and drawers had collapsed from water damage, Mr couldn't see himself on the mirror (it was positioned low under the window) and well, that pink whale spout and rambling rose feature tile!



The Brief
I was after a 'vintage modern' bathroom. I wanted it to be modest and in keeping with the era of the home (50s).

The Plan (& Source List)
We had to change the layout as the mirror had to be higher. We had no storage previously so we wanted lots of it. We had little paper cut outs of each element and did every possible layout scenario - then at the last minute we changed our mind again. We joined the separate toilet with the main bathroom. I wanted the bath to have breathing space.

Recent Work

Now that I have my website up and running (thanks to 3 nights sitting up 'til midnight), I am going to share my recent styling & photography work more often here and include how my clients have used the images on their websites, web stores, for advertising in print mags and online and of course social media.

Remember my bedroom post for Adairs? This is what my room still looks like now, but a full makeover is in the works.  We are waiting on some cladding to be delivered and then we can strip, paint, paint some more and make it pretty.

This Week

 Happy Friday! This week it poured for the first few days. My little bear turned 12 weeks and slept and fed and snuggled indoors in the rain.  We made lots of new garlands which have almost all sold and I have refilled the shop. I received a long awaited delivery that took my breathe away. There was progress on our deck. Just a privacy screen needed and I can try and make an outdoor space worth photographing.  Mr was at home as he had his final Masters exams this week so lots of little family morning walks and coffees when the rain stopped. And finally, my beautiful bright peony faded and fluttered.

Some images of the goings on in our little abode over the last few weeks. Lats pic shows gorgeous little cards from beebees80 which I was going to keep and hang but have been perfect cards to top the gifts for the bridal shower, kitchen tea and hens days I have been to lately.
