My Second Mother's Day

  

Mother's Day. I feel honoured to be part of this crew called Mothers. I always felt this day was a day to buy your mum something to thank her for everything she does for you. This year my viewed changed.  As a new mum, it was a day to celebrate how fortunate I feel to have been graced with a delightful little person who lights up our lives. To be able to call myself a mum. Her mum.

A Sacred Sunday

A Sunday morning of torrential of rain saw us gather for the Christening of the newest baby in our family with hot coffee, little gold animals, a crown topped cake and gold mason jars spilling over with puffs of white flowers and black berries in the depths of The Grounds. DIY

Lots of visitors and DIY last weekend. This one will be a quiet one.

 I tried my hand at a 4-level ombre orange cake for my little nieces' first birthday.

Easter Bunny

How was your Easter? I cooked lamb loins with sauce verte and raspberry & lemon tart with hazelnut & coconut crust...and I didn't eat tooooo much chocolate. This is my little niece.

Cherub

Muffin

This little muffin stayed with us all weekend (along with her puppy Ruby). She chose her own colours from my mountains of dots and couldn't wait to get it up on the wall.

I know I've been slack lately (what have I missed?) & I know we're all busy but between moving house, cleaning my old place, Easter, cleaning my new place, having a cold, going on holidays with my family (& seeking out the best coffee), unpacking, seeking out the best coffee in our new 'hood, Mothers' Day, trying to get the house in some kind of presentable order, babysitting, helping Mr with a Masters assignment and cooking for housewarming guests...I still managed to read the whole of Pia's stunning new book beneath my lamp at night next to a sleeping Mr over a few quiet nights.

These pics are of my niece in Noosa; my Easter gift from Mr; B2's restaurant in Noosa; Asha taking to the waves in the bikini Mr and I bought her last Christmas. She's such a kamikaze for a little doll.

Baby Snuggling

Hi busy bees, how were your weekends? I did lots of baby sitting/snuggling of my nieces and nephews. I spent Saturday night with the little princess asleep on my chest.

Australia Day 2011

You don't get much more Aussie than this...temporary Aussie flag tattoos, meat pies & sauce, an Aussie lifesafer and a patriotic little miss - all on a humid 35 degree day.
