Magnificent Magnolia

My mum grows the most beautiful flowers, especially roses. She leaves them dotted about the house in tiny ceramic pink jugs in the kitchen, in teacups on the coffee table and in egg cups on the windowsills. Sometimes there's a scented jug of roses on the outside dining table or vases on a mirror on the inside one...and sometimes she just takes my hand and walks me around the garden to point out her favourites. Recently her garden bore her a magnificent magnolia.

Oh magnolias. Sigh. I always admire them on trips to Sydney - they don't so well here in Brissie.

Magnolia trees make me miss going to visit my Grandmother in Ft. Worth, Texas. Magnolia tress are everywhere. They are so beautiful stretching over everyone's perfectly manicured yards.
