Home

I spent all weekend (as I do most) out of the inner city where I live. It's not that I don't love living in the centre of the action, it's more that by the weekend I'm ready to get away...this is the area my parents and sisters live. It's where I walk on a weekend morning before grabbing an awesome latte. This pocket of the world is my 'secret spot' where the water is perfectly clear and there is never anyone around. It was this that I was homesick for when I lived in London. Blue-blue skies, bright-bright sunshine and water water everywhere. I can't breathe without knowing it's near. Saturday was a magic, magic day. So with soul restored, I'm ready to face the week - starting with a 7am visit from the dishwasher repair man - I just can't contain my excitement.

I know the feeling. I was born and raised on the banks of a saltwater bay, and I couldn't figure out why I was always sick in "the big city" where I moved after college. It wasn't until my first restorative visit home that I realized I needed sea air to function properly. I moved home and have never again left. Some things ARE more important than money.

There's something so restorative about the ocean. I can't go that often, but when I do, I feel like a new person.

Maybe I should make plans to go soon!

Thanks for the lovely pics! I feel like I went for a visit!

To have a weekend escape like that would just be yummy in life. I think there would be less need for wrinkle removers if you know what I mean....! if people had a place that serene to visit on the weekends. So glad you do!

I'm trapped inside of a dense city as well, and with the exception of a stagnant lake, landlocked. It's been months since I've been able to get away... Even when the trips aren't frequent, they still hold their weight in gold.

Kudos.
