The Birth of a Poppy

It amazed me in my hot little apartment how quickly these poppies, well, popped! It's like they have an instictual drive to open as far as they can until their petals sit flat. These images were taken within about half an hour of one another.

Isn't nature amazing - I love seeing shots like this. I did a post too about some little flowers that are held together by these vessels on the stem - amazing!

Half an hour?! O my goodness that is really really fast. The photography is stunning. This is a gorgeous colour for a poppy. I prefer it much more than the red ones.
