Shadows At Play

Last weekend was spent packing up the boy's life into boxes to move him away from this place. The weather was of course sublime and this is the view from across his street. The morning walk once he gets to my place will be very different. He's coming home to a real winter in the gritty city. Makes me wonder if we made the right decision for him to move here rather for me to move there. We will soon find out as on Sunday, I'm bringing him home for keeps.

Why is it that I can not throw things away? Every jam jar is a potential vessel...for flowers, for yet unknown things, for life. As is an empty can of iced green tea, a juice bottle, a curvy yoghurt tub. Even flailing flowers are kept and loved and dried and stored in an abovementioned vessel. My cupboards are cluttered to bursting. That's why I'm going steady with a carpenter...because love is a man who can build me more shelves.

Last time I was in the Gold Coast, Mr was at work and I could take my sweet time to discover a new cafe, gnaw at some gluten free toast and sip on a latte over the Saturday Spectrum before he brought home all his height in his heavy boots and his gentle hands.

This weekend though, I am without boy...but not for much longer! After 14 return flights between us our 15th flight will have us meet in Melbourne and fly back to Sydney together for our first shared plane trip when I bring him home for keeps.
