When Day Becomes Eve

On Christmas Eve, Mr and I made the house spic and span and our new neighbour kindly dropped in some Christmas Bush clipped from her backyard tree. We made 3 batches of cookies for people we knew not what else to get them - in the new 90cm Smeg oven Mr had to to pull down a little wall to allow for.
These are lemon almond, brown sugar spice and ginger snap cookies.

I then settled down to a Moscow Mule thanks to the bottle of vodka we found under the house in one of Mr's moving boxes. What a find!

The Night Before Christmas

On Christmas Eve, we had a little dinner party, our first in the new house so I guess it was a bit of a house warming too, with a few early Christmas presents given and opened. My sis bought her now infamous white Christmas and egg nog. These are some setting up pics and there will be more to come.

Happy Holidays

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and is ready to ring in the New Year. What a busy year it's been, I hope the next is a little less hectic but I don't know how that could be so.

I mentioned a few posts ago that Mr & I bought a 50's house and are busy making it a home. For Christmas, Mr bought me a Kitchen Aid mix master and yesterday while he was mowing the lawns (yes we have lawn - mostly weeds & dirt), I was baking a cake and we met on the couch for tea (creme brulee tea from T2, you HAVE to try it) and citrus butter cake I said to him "now that I have Stitchy and a Kitchen Aid and you have your garage/workshop, all I need now is to start sewing myself some 50's house dresses and I'm a regular Betty Crocker". So now of course, I am on the hunt for some 50's dress patterns.

I look forward to taking you on a photographic tour of our house very soon.

p.s. made this white, silver & lemon garland for the centre of my sister's dinner party table - her post here.

Settling In

Welcome to our new home. Mr and I bought a bright and breezy home in the 'burbs. We are busy putting lots of holes in the walls to hang pictures and filling the walk in pantry of our 50's kitchen. Hopefully we'll have lots of improvements to share along the way (along with a few disasters, no doubt).

Nursery Clouds

The lovely Anne-Claire, a Lyonnaise blogger & decorator who can be found at sur un nuage requested a cloud garland in all of blue, pink, cream, lemon & silver and recently posted some pics of the gorgeous nursery of her son Anton with the cloud garlnd in situ. Lovely!

Kiki et Coco

Gorgeous San Francisco Tea Salon Crown & Crumpet hosted a “Kiki & Coco in Paris” book signing tea party on Friday and I wish I could have been there. I love the book - such a sweet story, take a look at it here.

My Garlands in Donna Hay Mag

Turn to page 209 of the Donna Hay mag Issue 60, past the beautiful pavlova and upon the tree are my garlands. I'm delighted.

Let There be Light

It's summer and the weather is wintery - this can't be what we've been waiting for.
